Why I’m Running

Safe schools - Schools should be a place where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn. When schools create a welcoming environment for all, students thrive, communities grow stronger, and the future becomes brighter for everyone.

Community engagement - Strong communities are built on connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making a difference. I want to be part of the positive change that benefits the Oregon City community now and for generations to come.

Career & College Readiness - Every student deserves the opportunity to explore their passions and build a future full of possibilities. By fostering career and college readiness, we empower young people with the skills, confidence, and support they need to achieve their dreams and make a lasting impact.

Bond Execution & Transparency - The Oregon City community showed strong support for OC Schools by passing the 2024 Bond. These funds will create lasting benefits while providing safe, modern, and innovative spaces that serve generations to come. I will work hard to ensure transparency and proper use of these funds.

About me

Ryan Pitz

I’m a Midwest native who now proudly calls Oregon City home. I have lived here with my wife Lauren, daughter Maggie, and our dog Homer for more than 8 years. I love to travel, watch sports, and be my daughter’s personal Lyft driver to all her activities.

The importance of education has always been close to my heart. While my professional work experience was in other fields, I spent free time in the education sphere. I volunteered with Junior Achievement, personal tutoring, Feeding America, and supported schools during MLK’s National Day of Service.

As my daughter entered Oregon City Schools, I was compelled to help our school and families. In 2021, I helped reactivate the Gaffney Lane PTO. Since then, I have served as Secretary and Treasurer. Those efforts helped fundraise thousands of dollars that were used to run numerous Gaffney community events and support our Gaffney Lane students and teachers. To further help align the PTO’s efforts with the school, I joined the Gaffney Lane Site Council to ensure the PTO was supporting the school’s key objectives.

In the Oregon City community, I have been involved in the 2024 Oregon City Bond measure. I was on the Bond Planning Committee and supported our get out the vote efforts via phone banking and canvassing. I now serve on the Oregon City Bond Oversight Committee, helping to ensure responsible stewardship of public resources. In February 2025, I was named an Oregon City School District VIP for my efforts.
